Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake yesterday said he continuously received complaints about transfers, promotions and political victimization of persons at state institutions during this election period.

Mr. Dissanayake in a statement, stressed he had informed Ministry Secretaries and Provincial Secretaries to stop transfers and promotions in the public service after the general election was declared on February 9.  He said such transfers and promotions were in contravention of the Constitution, the supreme law of the country.
