All public sector transfers are to be effected in May, a Public Administration Ministry official said yesterday.

Ministry Secretary D. Dissanayake said these annual transfers were to be implemented in January but had to be postponed to May 3 on a directive by Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake who ruled that no public sector transfers should take place during the time of elections.
