Mohamed Ziyad
Mohamed Ziyad is a 15+ years’ experienced development projects management specialist with accreditation as Project Management Professional by APMG International UK. He has managed projects in the area of migration, local governance, water and sanitation, capacity building and strengthening institutional development for government and civil society organizations. He has worked with a number of International Non-Governmental Organizations such as the Norwegian Refugee Council, The Asia Foundation, the National Languages Project, the British Foreign & Commonwealth, and Development Office, and The Save the Children International.
Besides his regular work, he has been also a consultant in the areas of project development and research. He is also a founding Director of the Center for Social Solidarity while PM4NGOs’ Ambassador for Sri Lanka.
He holds a bachelor’s in Language and Mass communication from the Eastern University of Sri Lanka and LLB (Hons) from Buckinghamshire New University, UK. Further, he is a holder of a Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, and Masters in Human Rights from the University of Colombo. Currently, He is reading a Ph.D. in International Relations at the University of Colombo.
Ziyad as a social researcher has conducted researchers on internally displaced people, minority language rights, women victims of violence, COVID 19 and women in local politics. Ziyad is passionate about contributing to enhancing peacebuilding and anti-corruption initiatives in Sri Lanka. Ziyad spends more time with family and friends above and beyond being habituated to reading political gossips. Ziyad is zealous to learn, develop and share knowledge and skills in the field of anti-corruption from the TISL team while put all his possible effort to effectively lead the political strand of the TISL.
